Synthesis and thermoelectric properties of cesium-doped CsxCu2-xS (х=0.04, 0.075, 0.125) copper sulfides

Аннотация

Cesium-containing semiconductor copper sulfides have been synthesized. Temperature dependences of electron conductivity, electron Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity and e.m.f. of the Cu/CuBr/Sample/C electrochemical cell in the range of 300–700 K have been obtained. An increase in the electrical conductivity of the alloys with increasing cesium content has been detected. The found activation energies of conductivity in the range from 300 to 370 K are 0.076 eV, 0.064 eV and 0.036 eV for the compositions Cs0.04Cu1.96S, Cs0.075Cu1.925S and Cs0.125Cu1.875S, respectively. A sharp drop in conductivity is observed when heated above 600 K, which is associated with the transition of the main phase of the alloy to a cubic modification based on copper sulfide. For the Cs0.125Cu1.875S composition, a high dimensionless thermoelectric figure of merit ZT=0.76 at 684 K was obtained. doi 10.33184/bulletin-bsu-2026.2.8
