About ways of prevention of cascade processes in power supply systems

Abstract

Questions of formation of operating modes of power supply systems for maintenance of their reliability at occurrence of cascade processes are considered. The mechanism of occurrence of cascade failures on the simplified example of calculation of development of this process in large power knot of a real power supply system is resulted in more details. Formal signs of the conditions necessary for development of cascade failures on the basis of the analysis of properties of a network are offered. The question of application of criterion N–1, N–2 or more taking into account heterogeneity of a network at a stage of short-term planning for отстройки modes from cascade failure is discussed.
