Abstract

A brief review of the mechanisms of noise generation by the propellers and piston engines is presented. The spectral characteristics of the acoustic field of propeller power plants are considered. The spectrums of single and contra-rotating propellers as well as piston engines are described. The effect of flight conditions on the noise spectrum of the propeller power plant is considered. The features of spectral characteristics of multi-cylinder engines depending on the method of exhaust organization are described. Features of spectral characteristics of smallsized propellers are considered.
