Abstract

The purpose of the study is to establish the regularities of a stable hydrodynamic regime by applying a fluoroplastic–containing composite polymer material to the surface of the shaft. The article is devoted to the analysis of the motion model of a truly viscous lubricant in the working gap of a radial sliding bearing with a non-standard support profile having a fluoroplastic composite polymer coating with a groove on the shaft surface. New models are proposed that describe the movement of a lubricant in the working gap of a radial bearing having truly viscous rheological properties in the laminar mode of motion, with a non-standard support profile having a polymer coating with a groove on the shaft surface, in the approximation for a "thin layer", and also based on the continuity equation. A comparative analysis of the obtained results with the existing ones is performed, confirming the approximation of the obtained model to practice. The novelty of the work lies in the development of a methodology for engineering calculations of the design of a non-standard radial sliding bearing with a polymer coating on the surface of the shaft, in the presence of a groove that allows determining the magnitude of the main tribotechnical parameters. As a result of the study, a significant expansion of the possibilities of applying in practice computational models of a radial sliding bearing with a non-standard support profile and a polymer coating on the surface of the shaft having a groove, operating in the hydrodynamic lubrication mode on a lubricant having truly viscous rheological properties in the laminar flow mode, allowing an assessment of the operational characteristics of the bearing: the magnitude of hydrodynamic pressure, load ability and coefficient of friction. Conclusions: the design of a non-standard radial bearing with a fluoroplastic-containing antifriction composite polymer coating and a 3 mm wide groove on the shaft surface ensured stable ascent of the shaft on a hydrodynamic wedge, which experimentally confirmed the correctness of the results of theoretical studies.
