Abstract

Aspects of finite element modeling of the shot peening process used to induce surface residual stresses in parts of gas turbine engines (GTEs) were considered. A comparative analysis of the stress-strain state of a representative volume of material exposed to shot was carried out. The principles of comparing the obtained numerical solutions with experimental data are discussed.
