Problems of using alternative types of aviation fuel with a reduced carbon footprint on advanced aircraft for regional aviation

Abstract

In regional aviation in accordance with Russia's low-carbon development strategy, it is planned to introduce technologies for using more ecological alternative types of aviation fuel. At the same time, the aviation industry ensures transport accessibility throughout the country and requires an assessment of the effects of decarbonization on the economic efficiency of air transportation. The features of the use of aviation condensed fuel ACF, petroleum-based low life cycle emissions fuel LCAF and aviation fuel from renewable sources SAF are shown. The possibility of using a particular type of fuel is related to its production process and the availability of raw materials. The main provisions of the methodology for environmental and economic assessment of the efficiency of the use of various types of alternative aviation fuels for advanced regional aircraft, including in order to fulfillment obligations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in aviation, are presented.
