Abstract

The paper presents the dependence of determining the number of cycles of bending the steel rope before destruction, depending on the type of steel rope, its operational factors, as well as the used lubricant and external operating conditions. A method has been developed to determine the values of the С1 and K coefficients, taking into account the influence of the lubricant used and the external operating conditions of the steel rope, respectively. It was found that the lubricant increases the durability of the steel rope at least 1,9 times when tested under normal climatic conditions, 1,7 times when exposed to a negative temperature of minus 60° C and 1,3 times when exposed to sea water, in relation to the non-lubricated rope.
