Cryogenic electric machines (CAM) have a wide potential for use in aircraft, shipbuilding andwind power. The introduction of CEM is often due to their high specific power and efficiency,in comparison with traditional EM. The power range of the developed CEM ranges from hundredsof kW to tens of MW. The key aspect for the implementation of cryogenic EM is the developmentof a cryogenic cooling system. The article presents an overview of the scientific and technical literatureon CEM cooling systems. The requirements for KEM cooling systems, including those for aviationpurposes, are considered. The analysis of research results related to the issue of cryogenic EM coolingis presented. The main characteristics of cryogenic refrigerators of various types are considered. The main approaches to the implementation of CEM cooling systems with the use of cryogenicrefrigerators have been identified.Downloads
